After three and a half years of surveys, discussions, and legal negotiations, the Garlogie Beam Engine Trust signed a 99-year lease with Aberdeenshire Council for possession of the site on 21st July 2023. We are busy repairing and maintaining everything with the ultimate aim of operating both the Beam Engine\u00a0 and the Hydro-electric equipment, although this will take considerable time and effort!<\/p>\n

We have scheduled Public opening days from 11am to 4pm on the last Sunday of each month from May to August 2026<\/strong>\u00a0(dates below). Why not come along, say hello and let us show you what is hidden behind these walls. We think you will be surprised by what you find.<\/p>\n

On Sunday 17th May we will have a combined Vintage Car Rally and Garlogie Mill Open Day from 12-3pm with a display of vehicles from Garioch Vehicle Restoration Society as well as public tours of the Garlogie Mill Site (This replaces the April Open Day formerly advertised).<\/p>\n

and in September we will be open for the Aberdeenshire Doors Open Day: Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th September 2026<\/strong> to show visitors around. Opening hours for Doors Open are 10am \u2013 4pm. Teas and refreshments will be available.<\/p>\n

On 26th April we will host an informal visit by Alvis Drivers Day participants.<\/p>\n
